Cut- Out Sugar Cookies
{Cannon Family Recipe}
My Aunt Becky has done a Christmas Cookie Decorating Party for years and years- and this golden recipe is the secret behind its success. I find it to be the best one out there for cookie decorating purposes, oh, and the dough is almost better than the outcome, as most batters and doughs are.
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp almond extract
2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tarter
Cream together the first five ingredients. Add the last three. Refrigerate for 3 hours. Roll out dough on floured surface to about 1/2” thickness. Cut into shapes and bake for 7-10 minutes at 325 until lightly browned. Cool, frost, decorate, and then eat.
