Chocolate Trifle

1 devils food cake mix, baked as package directs and let cool
1 large box instant chocolate pudding, prepared as package directs
1 large tub cool whip

Start creating layers by scooping half of the prepared cake into a trifle bowl or any large serving bowl. The cake can be in big chunks. Next layer half of the prepared pudding. Then layer half of the cool whip. Repeat these layers. Top the cool whip with chocolate shavings, mini chocolate chips, or crushed heath bars. Chill and serve in bowls.
